Thank you for being here.

This is a space to remember, rest, and receive.

Our presence is our most important creation.

As we encounter this uncertain, unprecedented, and unfathomable world, coming home to presence is not a luxury but a necessity. To do so requires the capacity to feel the discomfort and delight of being human.

Mindfulness and self-compassion are the inner resources we need to honor our humanness.

With mindfulness, we notice the fullness of life, and with compassion, we care about what we notice.

After over ten years of teaching, researching, and practicing self-compassion and mindfulness, I have experienced how much better we can integrate and apply this wisdom to our lives when we learn and practice together.

My name is Marissa C. Knox (she/her), and I would love for you to practice presence with me.

In my work, my wish for you is to remember the miracle of who you are, to rest in the mystery of what is possible, and to receive the magic of what is in your heart.

In any moment, we can slow down, even for just one deep breath and remember. In this breath, we can rest and release the tension of doing, so we can receive the grace of being.

All photos are taken by me unless otherwise noted. I love nature photography and believe remembering our inherent (connection to) nature is essential to becoming fully human.

“Around us, life bursts with miracles—a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life's daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.”
